Some parenting and caregiving concerns I have experience in helping with include:
developing skills to increase positive parenting, including modeling healthy emotional regulation with your child
improving attachment relationships and connection with your child
promoting healthy communication as a parent with your child
establishing appropriate boundaries and limits for your child's safety and security
clarifying and living out your caregiving values with increased consistency
increasing awareness around parenting triggers and what you want to take or leave from how you were raised
enhancing your ability to protect and support your child in being the healthiest they can be
escaping "life on autopilot" to make the most of quality time with your child
learning ways to better support your child when they are going through a hard time, such as recovering after abuse or assault, dealing with bullies, or if they are exploring their gender identity or sexual orientation
Parenting Support
I am trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and
Parent Management Training- Oregon Model (PMTO)
Based on your family's situation and needs, we can discuss whether you or your child will be the identified client.
I do not have specialization in cases where the primary needs/concerns are the following:
high conflict custody disputes or divorce
co-parenting without explicit commitment to therapy involvement by each caregiver
forensic evaluations or determining whether abuse or neglect occurred
parent competency evaluations
court-mandated parenting classes
If your need is listed here, I can recommend resources or potential referrals.
